Our school is rapidly expanding and we have increased our Pupil Admission Number (PAN) in Year 7 from 175 to 210 students. For the last 2 years we were at the full 210 on March allocation with a waiting list and would therefore recommend that if you would like to attend our school you place us as the first non-selective choice.
As would be expected our main feeder schools are in the Northfleet/Gravesend area, however we do usually take students from the following areas:
- Istead Rise
If you would like further detail on whether we have accepted students from your area please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Each year we accept students from across the ability range, including students who have passed the Kent test and choose to attend our school. We operate a streaming system in most subjects, including a fast track (Grammar Stream) class across all year groups and a primary style transition class in Year 7 for those who might struggle with the move to Secondary School.
Our normal school day (outside of COVID-19 arrangements) operates from 8.45am to 3.15pm and follows this format;
We benefit from 3 catering outlets as below;
Main Canteen – serving a range of hot and cold food.
Café – serving mainly cold food, sandwiches, cakes and healthy snacks
Pit Stop – serving a range of hot ‘take away’ style food
In September 2021 we will be opening an additional café in the new Sixth Form building.
Students pay for their dinner through our electronic swipe/ID cards, these are topped up by parents through the parent gateway account. Students on free school meals have the cards topped up automatically.
Please see below an example menu for the canteen;

Our students arrive at school through a wide range of methods including walking, car, bus and cycle. We do not have any dedicated school buses, however public bus routes can be accessed through the Arriva website:
Students using public transport are eligible for a ‘travel saver’ and this can be accessed here:
We are very proud of the behaviour of our students and how they engage with school. This excellent behaviour is through an effective behaviour policy which is based on:
• High expectations of behaviour
• Actively rewarding the many students who behave very well
• Clear sanctions where students do not comply
• Consistent application of the policy
Our school takes a zero tolerance approach to bullying and will always seek to resolve issues whenever we are aware – no matter how big or small. Our approach works through a staged response including initial discussions, detention, isolation, exclusion and where required removal from the school.
